Candlewick Lake
Visiting the folks, well, the dogs at least.
Before the lake froze, we took this photo. Waxie and I were staying at the house, watching the dogs. We decided to take a few photos because the lake was really pretty; too bad the camera phone had trouble capturing that part.
We made a trip back to the lake in January.. It was frozen solid, and we walked halfway across it. It was fun to run, and then try to stop quickly. I just called back there, and they told me the lake is thawing now, I guess that means spring is on its way.
Anyway, just throwing this up now (6 months late?)I have photos from the 2006 Auto Show in Chicago, but I have not uploaded them yet, so that is next to come.
I have also added a few more photos to the pic page.
Do I look Korean?
Well here I am next to the new Chevy Aveo. You may have seen these little buggers roaming the roads, they are almost cute! No, I'm not a huge fan of them or anything, I just find them so fu nny. See the license plate: "AN AMERICAN REVOLUTION" The part I find funny about that slogan, is the "American" part. The Aveo is assembled in Korea. I guess the American revolution is having our "American" products built in other countries that can do it for less; I ask, is this a new practice? I think not. But hey, I bet this Aveo is probably more reliable than the domestically built (new) Chevy Cobalt. Another thing I find funny is how these small cars (such as Aveo, Lanos, Rio) all have funky colors. I read once that they do it because the cars are so small, so they have to stand out, or people might hit them. Perhaps there is a little truth to that, I think maybe their odd colors are their strongest selling point? Well anyway, I had to take a photo in font of this thing since they had to tack that nasty slogan to this fine Korean car. There are a few other shots from the auto show lurking around here.
